What Bump stores — and where
Everything you enter in Bump is stored in a local database on your device only:
- Workout logs: exercises, sets, weights, reps, and session times
- Optional profile details: name, photo, birthday, height, weight
- Optional body metrics: bodyweight, body fat percentage, and tape measurements
Bump does not send this data to its developer or to a Bump-operated service. The app does not contain analytics, advertising, or other third-party tracking SDKs.
Apple Health
Apple Health sync is optional, available only after you turn it on, and write-only. With your permission, Bump can save finished strength workouts, body weight, and body-fat percentage to Apple Health. Bump does not request permission to read Apple Health data.
Health data is managed by Apple and your device settings. Samples already written to Apple Health may remain there after you turn sync off or delete Bump; you can review or delete them in the Health app.
Device backups
Bump does not operate its own cloud service. Like other iPhone apps, Bump's local app data may be included in ordinary device or iCloud backups controlled by you and Apple, depending on your backup settings.
What Bump does not do
- No accounts and no sign-in — we never learn who you are
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- No advertising and no third-party SDKs
- No selling, sharing, or transferring of data — there is nothing to sell
Your photo
If you choose to add a profile picture, Bump asks for access to the photo you select. The photo is stored inside the app on your device and is never uploaded. You can remove it anytime in Settings.
Export and deletion
You can export your complete training log as a CSV file anytime from Settings — where it goes from there is entirely your choice. Deleting the app removes Bump's active local database from that device. It does not automatically delete samples previously written to Apple Health or copies retained in device backups; those are controlled through Apple's Health and backup settings. There is no Bump server copy to request or erase.
Children
Bump is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Bump ever changes how data is handled — for example, adding a developer-operated sync service — this policy will be updated first, the effective date above will change, and the app's update notes will say so plainly.
